Video Conversion, Upload & Catalog — Record a Skill
One recorded skill takes a raw video end-to-end: convert to the right formats and sizes, upload to Canto, and catalog it with tags and albums — a single command replaces a manual chore.

What & why
Today raw video gets converted, renamed, uploaded and tagged by hand, step by step. This skill records the whole pipeline once: channel-correct conversions (site, IG, TikTok specs), upload into Canto, then metadata per the tagging taxonomy — ideally chained with the Canto tagging skill so both stay consistent.
The plan — step by step
- Define target output specs per channel with the creative team (formats, dimensions, bitrates)
- Pick the conversion path: local ffmpeg via Claude's tools vs the Adobe connector's resize/convert tools
- Wire the Canto upload + metadata steps (reusing the tagging-skill taxonomy)
- Test end-to-end on one real shoot video; time the before/after
- Record as a skill, publish, document on the hub + regenerate downloadables
Reasoning & trade-offs
Builds directly on the Canto tagging skill — same taxonomy, same confirm-gated writes
The manual version of this chore recurs weekly; a recorded skill pays for itself in the first month
